best of 2015

IMG_2311*-34 I'm still in New Year's reflection + planning mode, so I thought I would gather up my favorite images specifically from my sessions in 2015. The year itself felt weird, but I remember all the sessions clearly. 2015 saw my biggest photography improvement so far, for sure. My style and my eye were more clearly defined and fine-tuned. I gained a lot of confidence in my ability to do this. I'm really proud of what I made last year, both in photos and fine art. I always wish to do more, create more, shoot more. I feel like I'm just starting and the possibilities are waiting for me.

patchworkLB2015 I'll be at this fun, unique, crafty show this Sunday (Nov. 15) in Long Beach, CA with a table full of my art!

I participated in Patchwork Show last year, and it was such a cool thing to be a part of. It's a great place for holiday shopping and wandering around by the water on a Sunday. Come join us if you can!

IMG_2262-81 I don't normally do senior sessions- I focus on littles. BUT I had to make an exception when one of my best friend Karissa's (whose wedding I did the video for in November) little sister Addison asked me to do hers! I've know Addison since she was 4, and she has grown up to be hilarious and bold and beautiful.

Funny story, actually... when I got my first digital camera when I was 16, Karissa & I were doing a "photoshoot" in her front yard, and I took a photo of Addy at age 9, sitting in front of flowers. I was cracking up when I remembered this and found the photo... oh man. I'm glad I've improved my skills in the 9 years since this photo!

So I wanted to share my favorite favorites from her session! We shot for about 2 hours in a fun location, and I love how the photos came out- it was hard to choose favorites! It was fun & creatively different to photograph someone over 4 feet tall and able to take direction well haha. She had style & ideas, and that's always so fun to work with!

Patchwork show!

Very very exciting news! I will have a booth for Mary and Luna at the Patchwork Show in both Long Beach & Santa Ana, CA this year! It's a really cool event with TONS of vendors, and I was chosen to be one of them! patchwork2014

If you live in the Southern California area, please mark your calendars and come see me! FREE admission. There will be food trucks and handmade goodness galore. Support your local artisans- it's a perfect place for Christmas shopping :)

I'm so happy to have been accepted to this special community of artists and makers! I will now begin preparing like a crazy person.
